Trees are the longest lived organisms on the planet and therefore planting trees is an investment that creates a global ecological heritage for many hundreds of years. Outlet and Tree Appeal wish to demonstrate that we are seriously addressing the UK's environmental issues. Only then are we in a position to influence global environmental changes, like arresting deforestation in rainforest regions.
Tree Appeal plants and raises the awareness of trees in recognition of the following benefits that trees deliver to the environment and humanity:

The need for more trees
The majority of our native broad-leaved trees are in their latter years of maturity, which makes them very vulnerable to storm damage and natural decay. Over the last 50 years, 45% of our ancient, semi-natural woodland has been cleared or converted to commercial plantations. This loss was further compounded by additional losses of approximately 19 million trees that were destroyed in the storms of 1987 and 1990. It is also estimated that more than 30 million trees were killed by Dutch elm disease.
Our commitment
Outlet are committed to reducing their carbon footprint. We are doing our best to make the office a paper free environment but we realise that we are still far from our ultimate goal. Tenancy contracts need to be printed as do property particulars and terms and conditions. Although we only use recycled paper we feel we need to do more!
