Barons Court Area Guide

History of Barons Court

Barons Court was primarily a rural area until the mid 19th century. With the arrival of rail and tube lines compounded by the growing UK population and the industrial revolution, Barons Court rapidly became a residential area. Today, the area is particularly attractive to first time buyers and has a good choice of mansion block flats or Victorian terrace conversions. Whole house are more difficult to come by. It has great sporting facilities at the Queens Club where the Queen’s Club private tennis club was formed in the late 19th century.

It has near 30 lawn courts which are known worldwide and where are held the Artois championships. Around were built the Barons court estate, large mansion blocs which are highly sought after.

Properties range from flat conversions, new build and garden Victorian town houses.
