Marie Symington – Property Consultant

I grew up in Glasgow which has some beautiful Red and Blond Sandstone Buildings particularly in the old Merchant City area so at an early age I developed a love of Architecture and Beautiful Buildings. As a child I would gaze upwards awe inspired and enjoyed visits with my parents to Grand Stately Homes around Scotland, then when I came to London in early 80's I lived in Camden in a large shared Victorian House filled with lots of interesting people.

What inspired you to work in property?

Following a career path in Media Sales for many years, I then took a local job in 2010 in a small Independent Estate Agent and absolutely loved it. I saw a need however to provide landlords and tenants with a More Personal Friendly Approach. Then went on to establish my own small lettings company in 2011 and also manage some film location houses.

What values do you feel are important in working for Outlet?

Independent nature, Good Self Discipline, Creative approach, but also Willingness to be a Team Player share knowledge and ideas with colleagues. Openess and Humour !

Where is your favourite place to live in London?

Balham / Tooting Bec as I have best of both right on Doorstep. The buzz of Balham which has great Independent Shops, Restaurants, its own Cinema "Exhibit " And the Peaceful Leafy Green Tooting Bec Common with its lake, Tennis Courts and Lido ideal for dog walking and chilling out.

What are your favourite things to do in London?

I enjoy weekend walks by the river at Putney, Richmond, Barnes, Crystal Palace antique and vintage markets, stopping off for drinks at pubs and cafes along the way. Nights out at the Theatre, Live Music events, Going to property auctions, and Furniture Auctions at Lots Rd and at Battersea, Meeting Friends and having Meals out in Town.

Live Jazz at Ronnie Scotts !

Favourite motto?

Whits Fur Ye wull no gang by Ye - It's an old Scottish Saying, work it out.
